I painted this after watching the Snow Moon, that was also a super moon rise in Sedona. It was so beautiful and moving that I just bent over and cried. I took some of the red dirt of sedona with me and mixed it into titanium white which made the beautiful rosey-terra color you see in this painting. I selected the size of the canvas to exaggerate the scale of the landscape that stretched before me as the moon rose over the red rocks. Many of the smaller marks I made with a branch of scratchy pinon.
